Sofia Saenz

Sofia Saenz is a dancer and choreographer in the Los Angeles area. She began her dance journey at age eight at Pasadena Dance Theatre under Cynthia Young where she trained for 10 years. At age 16, she was awarded the Pasadena Arts Council Young Artist Award in dance. Sofia studied at Skidmore College in New York where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Dance with minors in Management & Business and Arts Administration. She was mentored by Erika Pujic and Jason Ohlberg, performing multiple works including Take Hold and The Crossing, as well as Paul Taylor’s Runes, staged by the Taylor 2 company. Sofia has always had an interest in choreography as well as performance, particularly the intersection of culture, movement and music. In 2021 she made the  acclaimed dance film, Como Dice Mi Padre. Sofia continues to dance, teach and choreograph, while also working in Marketing & Communications at The Music Center. She is a co-founder of ChoCoLA!
